We are looking for a high caliber individual who is dynamic, analytical and innovative to join Business Development team in our China Business Unit. Reporting to the Associate Director – Business Development (China), the appointee will be responsible for supporting business and project development activities In PRC with details below:
Responsibilities
· Undertake research and financial analysis to support renewable energy business development activities in PRC, particularly for renewable energy projects
· Assist Business Development team in analysing projects of strategic importance in key CLP markets
· Develop and run financial models to evaluate new business ventures, direct investments, greenfield and acquisition investment opportunities
· Research regulatory policies and development of PRC markets where CLP has presence or intends to expand, with a focus on renewable energy projects
· Provide analytical support on project or corporate financing and evaluate various financing structures and sources
· Support accounting and tax analysis to evaluate optimal investment structures
· Take lead and work in a cross-functional setting to conduct due diligence for M&A transactions and potential JV opportunities, highlighting key project risks and suggesting mitigations to management where applicable
· Support the team on the Investment Committee (IC) process to ensure proper functional reviews and governance required by CLP Group
· Support preparation of investment proposals for internal management and Board approvals
· Provide analytical support on post project implementation reviews
Requirements
· A recognized university degree in Business, Finance, Engineering or related discipline with a minimum of 8 years’ relevant working experience in areas such as energy / infrastructure sector, direct investment, or management consulting
· Excellent financial modelling and analytical capabilities
· Strong commercial knowledge and business acumen
· Prior experience in renewable energy project development and / or M&A preferred
· Self-motivated, able to thrive in a cross-functional team environment and work independently
· Strong communication and presentation skills
· Willing to travel, mainly within Chinese Mainland, as and when required
· Fluent English and Putonghua are required
