YETP Overview:
To strengthen our talent pipeline and leadership benchstrength, in addition to our annual Graduate Trainee (GT) recruitment designed for recent and fresh Engineering graduates and our Power Systems Engineers Recruitment Program (PSERP) for green and energetic engineers, we are now inviting passionate and enthusiastic engineers with high development potential to join our Young Emerging Talent Programme (YETP).
Successful candidates will be appointed as Senior Engineer. Subject to operational needs and appointees’ strengths and interests, they will be assigned to work in Transmission Department, or Region Department, or Smartgrid & Innovation Department under Power Systems Business Group (PSBG). They will start with a comprehensive Familiarization Program, be assigned a senior manager as Mentor to provide necessary guidance and support, and be intensively developed via various on – job / off job training and challenging projects and assignments.
Responsibilities:
Senior Engineer roles at different departments:
At Transmission Department
- Support the designated Branch Head to manage a wide range of projects under Circuits, Plant, or Planning & Resources Branch etc.
- As Project Manager to lead respective teams of Engineering / Technical Professional and Technical Operations staff for Transmission works e.g. 132kV to 400+kV
At East & West Region or North Region Department
- Support the designated Branch Head to manage a wide range of projects under Planning & Design, Construction, Operations, or Customer Supplies & Services Branch etc.
- As Project Manager to lead respective teams of Engineering / Technical Professional and Technical Operations staff to plan, coordinate, operate, maintain and improve the electrical systems and emergency services e.g. LV & 11kV levels (distribution)
At Smartgrid & Innovation Department
- Support the designated Branch Head to manage a wide range of projects under Smartgrid Development, Smartgrid Strategy, Process Change Management, or Project Controls & Resources Planning Branch etc.
- Oversee the ongoing management and reportings of LV Smartgrid projects; review, propose and implement the worldwide Smartgrid initiatives
Requirements:
- Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering/ Electronic Engineering/ Information Technology, Computing Science or related discipline
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Power Industry
- good interpersonal skills with proven leadership and contractor management experiences
- Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and external stakeholders
- Self-motivated team player and a decisive decision maker
- Candidates with experiences in power systems distribution operations and planning, SCADA, substation automation, real-time control system, large-scale system operations and project management will be preferred candidates for Senior Engineer at Smartgrid & Innovation Department
Candidates who do not meet all requirements but have demonstrated outstanding development potential may be considered for Engineer position.
