In support of CLP Group’s business development strategy which has identified Mainland China as a key growth market, the Corporate Affairs (Business Operations) Department will formulate corporate affairs strategies, develop and implement programmes to promote CLP’s brand in Mainland China and foster positive relations with key stakeholders. The team is also responsible for issue and crisis management involving the company’s operations in Mainland China. We are looking for a high calibre Corporate Affairs professional to join the Corporate Affairs (Business Operations) Department of CLP Power Hong Kong Limited. Based in Hong Kong and reporting to the Associate Director – Corporate Affairs (Business Operations), the appointee will be responsible for the following:

Formulate overall CA strategies and develop programmes in consultation with senior executives to promote CLP’s brand differentiation in Mainland China. Ensure the strategies and practices for Mainland China are aligned with Group direction and priorities.
Build relations with key stakeholders in different sectors. Plan and manage the implementation of stakeholder engagement activities in conjunction with Regional Head Office and local assets in Mainland China.
Plan and manage execution of asset-based events with local assets and external agencies if needed.
Oversee the development and implementation of community initiatives to address local needs.
Plan and arrange media activities to build the profile of CLP and its senior executives in Mainland China. Identify and arrange suitable speaking opportunities for senior executives to promote CLP’s thought leadership.
Manage issues and crisis across Mainland China business by providing CA counsel and support.
Manage and provide editorial support on a variety of communication resources on CLP’s Mainland China business.
May require occasional cross border travel.

Requirement

Recognised university degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or other related disciplines.
At least 12 years of solid experience in public affairs, corporate communications or media with experience in communications and stakeholder engagement in Mainland China.
Strong sensitivity in current affairs and political landscape, and versatile in issue management, stakeholder engagement and publicity
Strategic communicator experienced in designing, launching, and implementing engagement initiatives.
Excellent writing, presentation, and editorial skills in both English and Chinese.
Strong leadership, people management skills and teamwork, highly motivated with excellent coordination skills, ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously.
Excellent communication & interpersonal skills to work with both internal and external stakeholders.
