Working on a greenfields data platform, CLP’s Data Services team is a highly ambitious and rapidly growing team focusing on digitalisation, decentralisation of energy and decarbonisation.
We are looking for passionate professionals to join our IT Business Enablement team within the Information Technology Group of CLP Power Hong Kong Limited. The successful applicant(s) will be responsible for the following duties.
Technical Responsibilities
· Lead, implement, and drive delivery excellence in key strategic projects
· Build end-to-end data pipelines including data collection, transformation, quality and integration solutions to facilitate CLP’s data & analytics solutions.
· Design, implement and fine-tune analytics solutions that meet business and technical requirements through extensive communication and collaboration with business stakeholders
· Contribute to our best practices committee, bringing ideas from big tech and the industry to the team and piloting and assessing their suitability for our platform.
· Lead the design of automated operations for continuous development, testing, release, and support processes for key strategic projects
· Work with architects to design complex integration patterns and paths for IoT, OT, SaaS and in-house systems both in near, event-driven and real-time.
· Automate and accelerate infrastructure deployment
· Advocate a DevOps culture automation and engineering best practices to enable development teams
Management Responsibilities
· Conduct user requirement studies (liaising with IT Business Partnering team), system analysis and design, contract negotiation with IT vendor(s) etc.
· Collaborate with vendors and service providers for solution planning, service delivery and technical support activities
· Collaborate with solution design and business requirement team to identify the suiting data and analytics solutions as well as assembling large, complex data sets that meet the requirement
Must- haves
· Proficiency in SQL, Python and other control languages such as PowerShell or YAML.
· Experience in developing end-to-end data engineering and analytics pipelines using CI/CD from development to production on mission critical applications.
· Familiarity with NoSQL, relational, and other database and model types (e.g. Kimball, DataVault).
· Familiarity with DevOps best practices including unit testing and CI/CD pipeline automation.
· Drive to continuously adopt best practices and coach other staff.
· Performance management and optimisation of scalable cloud based compute and storage workloads.
· Good at Vendor management, Relationship management, Change management skills.
· Excellent Communication, Leadership, Problem solving and analytical skills.
· Demonstrable commitment to continuous learning, self and team-development.
· Proactive, performance driven and results oriented.
Highly regarded
· Exposure to containerised workload and deployment solutions including Docker, Kubernetes and Terraform, etc.
· Experience with a utility / energy company or passion and understanding of the industry.
· Experience with the Azure stack including Azure Storage, ADF, Azure Databricks, Azure SQL and Azure DevOps.
· Experience with data virtualisation and governance tools.
· Experience with data modelling.
· Experience working in a centralised data team.
· Unix, Linux, or Windows cloud based / on-premise administrative experience.
· Polyglot engineer with sound programming fundamentals.
· Understanding of multi-cloud infrastructures and environments.
· Experience with user access, authentication, user permission management and security
· Experience with application and infrastructure monitoring
Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or other quantitative or related disciplines. Master’s degree in a related field is desirable
· Professional certifications in cloud platforms (Azure, AWS or AliCloud), or relevant industry certifications are highly regarded.
