Ideation – Translate business and functional requirements into the solution architecture with working closely with Business and Digital teams. Conduct solution fit-for-purpose and market trends analysis to plan for future solution/ capability adoption.
Solution Evaluation – Evaluate solution options from market and propose recommendations to key stakeholders in Business and Digital teams. Coordinate and align the end-to-end solution architecture and obtain formal agreement on architecture deliverables.
Solution Design – Develop technical design of the solution aligning to the architecture guidelines, and it will be acted as a source of guidance, quality assurance & control for the solution implementation. Plan and manage the solution roadmaps.
Facilitate Business and Digital alignment – Work closely with Business Partnering Principal Managers to support key business transformation projects (e.g. Customer Experience transformation, ERP transformation, Intelligent Grid, Digital Asset Management, Internet Of Things, etc.) in solution design
People and Team Management – Manage a team of Solution Architects, provide leadership to motivate, attract and retain outstanding Digital talents. Encourage team collaborations and ensure best practices are shared and embedded across BG/BUs.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related disciplines / Master’s degree in a related field is desirable.
- Over 8-10 years of utilities industry or IT and business work experience with a broad range of exposure to power systems, IoT, power plant technical environments and business segments. This could include grid/network management, service and alarm management, work order management, asset management etc. Nice to have smart grid, smart city, heavy engineering background.
- Must have experience in solutions, not just single application or single platforms.
- Experience as solution architect, with experience in architecture definition, strategy alignment, roadmap design. Nice to have application development and project management skills.
- Very experienced in modern architectures and able to determine design pattern across a range of technologies.
- Broad skills across integration architecture, cloud, data and security architectures, API design, event-driven architecture, etc.
- Professional credentials in TOGAF, ITIL, PMP, COBIT, ScrumMaster, DevOps, or relevant disciplines preferred.
- Solution architecture certification(s) in one (or more) cloud solution(s), where applicable
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, as well as influencing and leadership skills in English. Cantonese & Mandarin Chinese language abilities highly regarded.
- Proven track record of problem solving and analytical abilities and able to use own initiative.
- Good at facilitation, project management, change management and relationship management.
