Description & Requirements
We are looking for an energetic and competent professional to join our Business Strategy Department, Generation Business Group (GBG). Successful candidate will be assigned to work for one of the Branches, i.e. Business Improvement, Investment Strategy and Operation & Maintenance Strategy, and be part of the team to develop strategies, tools and systems to facilitate GBG transforming to a Utility of the Future towards Carbon Neutrality. Career development opportunity will also be given to the appointee who may be required to rotate to work for different functional units of the Department.
Followings are the key responsibilities and requirements of the appointee:
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive generation plant & process digitalisation, innovation and process simplification development to improve business performance in particular on safety, quality and operation efficiency
- Conduct technical performance analysis, target setting & management to drive generation plant performance towards world class standards
- Participate in development and implementation of full span of generation business strategies & activities including business planning & management, risk management, investment planning and operation & maintenance optimization in order to meet business objectives in terms of specific deliverables, performance targets, operational excellence and cost effectiveness
- Conduct various strategic analysis and prepare business reports & proposals with useful insights and sound justifications to facilitate management in business review and decision making
- Perform ad hoc projects, where necessary through job rotation and job enrichment
Requirements:
- A recognized university degree in Engineering or IT disciplines, plus at least 5 years working experience in engineering, business planning or project management
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, negotiation and project management skills
- Good numerical & modelling skills and ability to conceptualize, design and carry out strategic analysis and effectively communicate recommendations to stakeholders;
- Active team player with good time and stress management
- Good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese
- Work experience in or good understanding on generation business or power industry is an advantage
- Possession of a corporate membership of HKIE or other recognized engineering professional bodies is an advantage
