Description & Requirements
Applications are invited for the above vacancy in the Logistics & Transport Branch of our Finance & Business Support Department.
Major duties include:
- Supervise a work team to ensure the receipt, checking, storage and issuance of stock materials are in accordance with well-established practices and procedures
- Coordinate with other users on stock replenishment and inter-store transfer
- Plan material layout and movement to ensure efficient use of storage space
- Monitor manpower resources for mobilizing emergency Mobile Generator and associated facilities
- Monitor resources and performance of a freight team and EHL team of materials transportation and movements
- Prepare documentation on store reservation of commissioned asset items and arrange plant item movement
- Prepare documentation on accounting transaction of material movements and safety-related documents
- Arrange transportation of goods including special order and disposal of obsolete / surplus items
- Direct action for safe custody and preservation of stocks and take follow-up actions on abnormalities upon inspection
- Arrange maintenance of equipment and facilities and ensure adherence to safety and security procedures
- Identify problem areas in store operations systems and make recommendations for improvement and enhancement
- Coordinate training to ensure work team competence and evaluate the effectiveness; and
- Perform duty during inclement weather when required
Requirements:
- A minimum of F.5 with 5 passes in HKCEE including English (Syllabus B) or Level 2 or above in five subjects in HKDSE including English Language plus an Ordinary Diploma in Purchasing & Supply or equivalent
- Five years relevant experience in freight and store operations with supervisory experience
- Strong technical knowledge of Heavy Load Lifting including lifting appliances, lifting gear and lifting operations
- Knowledge of chemical waste handling and related regulatory requirement
- Knowledge of dangerous goods handling and related regulatory requirement
- Knowledge of inventory analysis and monitoring
- Proficient in the use of SAP, PC and other computer applications
- Proficiency in both spoken and written English and Chinese
- Mindful and possess good safety knowledge and awareness
- Proactive, smart and willing to work under pressure, and with minimal supervision
- Good supervisory and resources planning skills
- Proven interpersonal and team-building skills
- Holder of driving license (class 1 & 2) is preferred
- Holder of forklift truck operator certificate is an advantage
- Other related skills as technology evolves
Candidate who has shown good potential for further development but with less qualification and/or experience will be considered for a position at lower grade.
