We are looking for high caliber professional to join Financial Control (Hong Kong) Department of CLP Power Hong Kong Limited. The successful applicant will be responsible for the following duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the financial accounting and reporting of the SoC and the CLP Power group of companies in compliance with relevant statutory, regulatory and accounting standards
- Develop the appropriate accounting policies and treatments and recommend them to Management for approval; and formulate the process, procedures and guidelines for implementation
- Ensure accounting systems and procedures are in place for the maintenance of proper books of accounts, and the integrity of the accounting system and records is preserved
- Establish and maintain effective internal controls over the financial accounting and reporting processes
- Formulate tax plan for effective tax management, address tax issues and ensure tax compliance
- Ensure the level of Government Rent & Rates levied by RVD is fair and reasonable under the Hong Kong rating law and with reference to practices both locally and internationally
- Lead the payment functions (including payments to suppliers and employees) to ensure all payments are properly made to discharge genuine obligations as defined in various agreements/contracts.
- Ensure the Company’s provident and retirement funds are operating in accordance with the trust deeds, administration and custodian agreements.
- Provide financial advice and support to new business development, and the implementation of such development from a financial perspective
- Define and implement the organization and staff plan for the unit. Recruit, train and motivate staff to ensure they are competent professionals with appropriate managerial abilities to contribute to CLP’s current and future objectives.
- Drive continuous improvement for more efficient financial accounting and reporting processes
Requirements
- A recognised university degree in Accounting or Finance; and professional qualification of a recognised accountancy body;
- At least 15 years’ relevant working experience, with at least 7 years’ experience in partnering with an executive team;
- Solid experience in devising accounting policies/treatments with reference to relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements;
- Proven experience in influencing the executive management with financial advice in support to making critical decisions;
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills and capability to communicate, influence and negotiate effectively in all levels in both spoken and written English and Chinese
