Description & Requirements

Applications are invited for the above vacancy in Business Improvement Branch of Asset Management Department. The appointee will be assigned to undertake a range of duties including the information systems strategy development, digital transformation implementation, information systems project management, and production systems support for PSBG business units. Reporting to Manager - Business Process, main duties include -

Manage IT projects investment and governance in line with the information systems strategy
Review the relevant business processes and management practices; identify gaps from world best practices and devise improvement plans to this effect
Communicate among key stakeholders in PSBG and IT professionals to confirm the system requirements, specification and/or design features of the system
Coordinate business improvement project activities and monitor the progress throughout the development stage
Manage the project documentation process to ensure the prompt delivery of a range of system documents such as requirement specifications, system design reports, support quality plan, test strategy/plan, risk assessment and mitigation measure reports, system help documents
Organize user acceptance test; arrange/deliver training/communication for end-users of all levels; prepare a rollout schedule for production run and set up a support infrastructure
Perform duties under adverse weather condition, outside normal working hours, and carry out other duties assigned by supervisor as and when required

The successful candidate will also be considered for appointment or job rotation to other branches to meet the business need of the department and for self-development.

Requirements:

A recognized university degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or Information Technology or relevant discipline
At least 5 years’ relevant working experience
MHKIE or equivalent professional qualification in relevant discipline will be an advantage
Solid experience in managing process review, information systems development projects, IT cost optimisation, project documentation process, IT systems integration, and data conversion
Knowledge of the electrical power network, Geographic Information System (GIS) and Enterprise Resources Planning Solution are highly desirable
Strong analytical, problem solving and project management skills
Familiar with engineering standards and practices, and management systems would be an advantage
Mindful with good safety awareness
Customer-oriented, self-motivated, good team player, analytical and able to work under pressure and tight schedule
Strong sense of responsibility with good interpersonal and communication skills
Proficiency in both spoken and written Chinese and English

Candidates with lower qualification and/or less experience but demonstrate good potential for further development will be considered for a position at lower grade.
