Description & Requirements
We are looking for an energetic, creative and highly motivated individual to join the Corporate Affairs (External Relations) Department, in support of the Company’s initiative of engaging and connecting with the community stakeholders. Reporting to the Regional Relations Manager, the appointee will be responsible for implementing a range of programmes and initiatives outlined below.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement community events to build strong relationships with key stakeholders including community leaders, district councilors
- Support the department to deliver the company’s vision and business policies within the local community
- Work closely with community leaders and government departments on major projects that provide highly reliable electricity supply and make positive contributions to the community
- Establish internal liaison networks to enable effective communication and coordination in our day-to-day operation
- Take the lead to handle local supply issues, maintain a proactive dialogue with relevant stakeholders and respond to inquiries from community members swiftly
- Represent the company to attend meetings to listen to customers’ views, cater for their needs, and maximize their satisfaction
- Support major project branches to formulate engagement plans for responsible districts
Requirements:
- A recognized university degree
- At least 3 years of relevant work experience (previous work experience in government departments, public bodies will be an advantage)
- Solid experience in organizing community and corporate events
- Strong understanding of public policy and experience in disseminating company messages
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, community leaders, and advocacy groups
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking and customer relations
- Self-motivated and work irregular hours
- Good computer skills such as MS Word, Excel and PowerPoints, and knowledge in video editing, photoshop and Adobe Illustrator is an advantage
- Candidates with less experience would be considered as District Relations Officer
