Working on a greenfields data platform, CLP’s Data Services team is a highly ambitious and rapidly growing team focusing on digitalisation, decentralisation of energy and decarbonisation.
We are looking for passionate professionals to join our IT Business Enablement team within the Information Technology Group of CLP Power Hong Kong Limited. The successful applicant(s) will be responsible for the following duties.
Technical Responsibilities:
- You will work closely with our data architects and data scientists to develop and implement Extract, Transform and Load solutions and other data platform technologies such as data virtualization and real-time / event driven solutions. You will build utilities data pipelines to support the data platform / data engineers / data scientists. You will develop and maintain platform monitoring framework to ensure the healthiness of the data platform.
- Reporting to the Senior Architect – Data Platform, the appointee will be responsible for the following duties:
- Build utility data pipelines to support data collection, transformation, quality and integration solutions to facilitate CLP’s data & analytics solutions
- Participate in platform architecture and technologies design, evaluation (POC) and implementation
- Lead the design of Data Platform Applications and Components for small-medium projects to ensure that they adhere the overall enterprise design of the Enterprise Data Platform
- Manage the provisioning and support for data platform components, including the implementation of suiting security controls for the data platform, and identify solutions for platform enhancements to improve usability and supportability
- Develops, implements and maintains automated provisioning templates
- Collaborate with solution design teams to identify technical requirements
- Design, implement and fine-tune analytics solutions that meet technical requirements
- Participate in other project activities for solution implementation, including system analysis and design, development and testing, rollout and maintenance support. Review design and deliverables from external vendors when they participate in the implementation.
- Work collaboratively with the CLP data architect to ensure data model integrity
- Adopt DevOps technology and practices in application development and support, including build deployment, software configuration, continuous integration (CI), continuous delivery (CD) and release engineering process
- Work with the DevOps engineer to support the consistent operation of data & analytics solutions
- Uplift data governance practices and data quality management in the use of data analytics platform
- Bachelor or Masters degree in a related field (e.g. computer science, information technology, etc.)
- At least 3-year experience in SQL/PostgreSQL, data and BI solutions with integration to 3rd party tools
- Experience working with application server software (e.g. ERP), Spark, Scala, Python, SQL scripting languages, relational databases (e.g. SQL DB/DW), NoSQL platforms (e.g. HBase, MongoDB, Cassandra), cloud technologies (e.g. Azure or AWS); experience in real-time data processing (e.g. Kafka) and data virtualization (e.g. Denodo, Tibco) and platform monitoring (e.g. Datadog)
- Highly experienced with processing large and complex datasets and building end-to-end data pipelines using on-premise or cloud-based data platforms
- Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Terraform, Git, SSH, Shell scripting
- Experienced in coding in data management, data warehousing or unstructured data environments
- Experience with Data Lake, Databricks, Synapse analytics, BI Dashboard, and BI implementation projects
- Experience in data platform architecture will definitely add value
- Experience in AWS and Azure cloud platforms and technology
- Experience in data platform operations
- Ability to define and develop data integration patterns and pipelines
- Strong knowledge of data modelling, data warehousing, and BI concepts Business Intelligence solutions
- Self-motivated, able to work independently, and attention to details
- Good understanding of networking architecture
