We are looking for a passionate IT professional to join the Assets and Operations Services team of IT Business Enablement in Information Technology of CLP Power Hong Kong Limited. Reporting to the Principal Manager of the team, the appointee will undertake the following major duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the continuous improvement of business processes on IT platforms; ensure existing applications are maintained and enhanced in a timely and efficient manner to cater for changes in the business environment.
- Lead and deliver small-to-medium sized projects, including but not limited to pre-project preparation, project execution and post project implementation. Guide junior IT staff (analysts, associates) on project delivery. Drive system design and analysis, solution evaluation, technical feasibility study, contract negotiation with IT vendor(s), participate and monitor development and project implementation activities, conduct quality assurance and prepare project documentations
- Collaborate with vendors and service providers for solution planning, service delivery and technical support activities
- Conduct post-implementation review of IT projects with stakeholders (e.g. users, IT business partners, IT solution architects) to validate that projected benefits are being realised and business requirements being fulfilled
- Coordinate and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders (e.g. users, developers, UX, architects, QA) to ensure adequate understanding of business requirements, and follow up during and after the software development cycle to ensure applications developed are able to meet the business requirements
- Manage the implementation and ongoing support of IT systems related to planning, operation and maintenance of power system assets in generation, transmission and distribution businesses.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related disciplines is a must. Master’s degree in a related discipline is a plus.
- At least 6-8 years of experience in providing IT services. Experience in utilities / engineering related industry would be an advantage.
- Experience in project and vendor management
- IT implementation experience in Geographical Information System (Esri or related products) preferred
- Knowledge in any of the following IT applications for utilities or energy industry would be an advantage
- Asset and Facility Management Systems (Intergraph G/Technology)
- Emergency Management Systems
- Hands-on experience or knowledge in any of the following skills would be an advantage
- .NET, .NET Core, .NET framework, MS Power Platform, Java, JavaScript, RDBMS (e.g. MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL), API Management Platform (e.g. Apigee), Enterprise Integration Platform (e.g. Dell Boomi)
- Cloud Computing platforms such as Microsoft Azure Cloud, Alibaba Cloud other cloud services.
- Agile software development methodology, Scrum, DevOps, API based application integration and experience / knowledge in design thinking is highly preferable
- Professional credentials in PMP preferred. ScrumMaster, DevOps, or relevant disciplines would be an advantage
- Proven track record of problem solving and analytical abilities
- Strong communication skills, leadership skills and teamwork
- Excel at vendor management, change management and relationship management
- Demonstrable commitment to continuous learning
- Proactive, performance driven and results-oriented
- Good spoken and written English
